This Medieval Heater Shield is crafted from Poplar wood and overlaid in a tight binding of linen; it was finished with a hand-painted white Lion Rampant over a red field. The reverse of the shield has a pair of riveted leather arm straps and a longer, leather shoulder strap. A padded leather cushion gives improved shock protection to the arm.
