What You’ll Need: 375ml Lukewarm Water Oil For Frying Cooking Method: This can be cooked on stovetop or in a cast iron pot (adding oil in the pot) on the coals. Instructions: Empty and sift vetkoek pre-mix into a bowl. Remove about 2 tablespoons of flour and keep aside for dusting your knead surface. Add yeast sachet provided to 375ml lukewarm water and leave for 10 min. Add water and yeast mix to the dry ingredients and mix well until it forms into a dough. Transfer from bowl to a knead surface dusted with flour, knead dough for about 6-8 min until smooth. Please dough back in bowl, cover with cling film or cloth and let it proof in a warm area until dough doubled in size. After resting, turn the dough out onto a floured surface and lightly knead the dough. Shape dough into balls of your desired size and rest for 5 min or until doubled in size. Flatten the dough balls and fry in a pan with oil until golden brown on both sides. Serve warm and enjoy.
