This buckler stands well above most other bucklers on the market by being crafted from especially tough tempered high carbon steel instead of the typical mild steel. Not only is the material thick at about 1.5 – 1.7 mm in thickness (About 16 gauge), but it is solidly constructed with sturdily peened rivets. Its central bar grip is wrapped in suede leather for a tactile grip and an additional buckled strap of leather allows for the bearer to further reinforce the fitting of the buckler to the wrist, allowing for an array of possible gripping options and making it far less likely to drop or lose the buckler in a disarmament in a melee.
