The drive position sensor (G676) is used in the Audi S-Tronic transmission to determine the position of the parking lock. If “P-ON†is detected, the selector lever sensor system control module (J587) activates the parking lock solenoid (N486), ensuring that the parking lock cannot be disengaged unintentionally. A malfunctioning drive position sensor may lead to issues with engaging or releasing the Park position properly.
